Finding Sanctuary, Enriching Yorkshire and Humber
This free conference at Sheffield City Hall will launch the new Refugee Integration Strategy for Yorkshire and Humber. It is aimed at policy makers and practitioners across the region who work with refugees and asylum seekers, including local government, regional organisations and the voluntary and community sector.
The winner of the Refugee of the Year Awards 2009 will also be announced on the day.
Workshop sessions will include:
- Refugee Integration & Employment Services for refugees: a partnership approach
- Experience of developing resettlement services for refugees from the Gateway Protection Programme
- How to develop a local integration strategy? The Sheffield experience
- How can refugees and RCOs participate meaningfully in strategy and service delivery?
- Ensuring the inclusion of refugee women's issues in service delivery?
- From regional policy to local delivery - how effective regional structures can help you deliver on the ground
