Refugee Council Conference 25th March 2009, London

Integration: Building a Life in the UK

For everyone working with refugees – this is your best opportunity to influence the Government for the next three years.

The Home Office retains responsibility for integration through 2011. It plans to publish a progress update on refugee integration in early 2009; UKBA has committed to consider and respond to the recommendations made by this conference – and has asked that we include how we as practitioners can be involved in the solutions.

This landmark conference brings together the top experts from leading organisations working with refugees in the key areas of housing, education and employment, volunteering and children and families; the conference will work together to create recommendations to present to government.

Key speakers include:
Phil Woolas, MP, Minister of State for Borders and Immigration
Trevor Phillips, Chair, Equalities and Human Rights Commission,
Donna Covey, Chief Executive, Refugee Council
