Children and families

Like any other child? Children and families in the asylum process [John Reacroft, Barnardos, January 2008]

This report is a result of in depth interviews with 17 families about their experience of the asylum determination process and the nature of support provided to them. Through background information and illustrative case studies it covers a range of issues including accommodation, racial harassment and the impact of dispersal. It makes a number of recommendations including calling for the right to work for asylum seekers who are in the UK for more than six months.
