Definition of terrorism

Refugee Council’s submission to the review by Lord Carlile of Berriew QC of the definition of terrorism in UK law [May 2006]

The Refugee Council submission focuses on the implications of the UK definition of terrorism for refugees and asylum seekers in the UK, as well as the broader international refugee protection system. Our concern is that thousands of refugees and asylum seekers who have historically been considered deserving of, and legally entitled to, protection in the UK could now be prosecuted for terrorism offences and denied protection from persecution.
