Fair Decisions, Faster Justice: A UKBA Consultation: Joint Response of the Refugee Legal Centre and the Refugee Council [October 2008]

The Refugee Council has responded jointly with the Refugee Legal Centre to the Government’s proposals to create a new Tribunal structure to consider asylum appeals. The two organisations have serious concerns that the new structure would undermine access to justice and the rule of law. They would place the UK at serious risk of breaching its international protection obligations.
