Henry Smith Charity - funding support and advice

The Henry Smith Charity funds advice and support services for asylum seekers and refugees when they are most need our help.

Their generous support means that we can help the most vulnerable, including those with mental health needs, women and children.

Alpha Thian fled from Guinea and arrived in the UK in February 2005. He couldn’t speak or write English. The Refugee Council supported him with English classes. He excelled and is now studying Maths, Physics and Economics at A-level. He recently won a Millennium Award For Voluntary Service for his service in an old peoples home.
