KPMG and the Refugee Council
"KPMG offers both time and facilities to help. Refugees receive practical and expert advice and gain self confidence by being invited to such a well known company. Employees get first hand experience of people whose lives have been shattered by persecution and conflict. Both participants and KPMG learn and benefit from the experience" Chris Badman, Volunteer Development Manager, Refugee Council | |
Refugees experience high levels of unemployment, although they may be highly skilled.
Employment is an important part of the integration process but they face many barriers, including lack of access to professional networks.
KPMG staff support refugees through job search training, including making applications and CV writing.
Goldman Sachs and the Refugee Council
Goldman Sachs staff have provided practical help to refugees and asylum seekers over the past ten years. During this time, more than 200 staff have made a difference through volunteering.
Projects include renovating a garden in a hostel to day trips for refugee children who are alone in the UK and vulnerable women.
