Your support allows us to provide immediate and long-term help to refugees and asylum seekers – through our direct services, by campaigning and lobbying on relevant legislation, and by raising awareness of refugee issues to the wider public.
Immediate support includes:
- free advice service with in-house translators
- our Day Centre which provides hot meals, food parcels and emergency provisions
- our Specialist Team, who cares for those with emotional or physical difficulties as a result of persecution in their home country
- our Children’s Panel who helps thousands of unaccompanied children every year
Snapshot of our work with children during 2006-07: - 4,600 drop-in sessions took place to support children in crisis.
- 242 advice consultations held in 11 areas of the UK.
- 642 young people with complex care or asylum needs were seen by an individual adviser.
- 120 separated children attended our weekly social evenings in London.
