Every country shares a profusion of human rights abuses that we may not want to believe, let alone imagine possible, but which are part of the daily life of millions of refugees, asylum seekers and internally displaced people.

In the statistics shown we have highlighted some common points of interest for each country, including their Human Development Index ranking (HDI). You can see that many are at the wrong end of the scale.
