How to apply

All prospective volunteers need to complete an application form. There are two ways to do this - online or in print:

		You can use our online system to fill in an application form.* View current vacancies and apply online
		Alternatively fill out our application form and send to the address on the form or contact your local volunteer coordinator who will send you a copy of the form by post. Download an application form (PDF)

In order to download the form you will need Adobe Reader. You can get this free on the Adobe website.

Important information

• We ask all volunteers to commit to one day/session a week for a minimum of three months. If this might be a problem for you, please contact your local volunteer co-ordinator: in some cases we are able to run shorter volunteer placements.
• As a volunteer we will reimburse you for your travel and lunch costs. We have a limited budget and can only pay local travelling costs. Please feel free to contact us about this: if we are unable to reimburse you for your travel, we will be able to recommend volunteering opportunities with other organisations.
• For some of our volunteering opportunities we have a waiting list. However we would still like to receive your application so that we can contact you as soon as an opportunity becomes available.
• We are always looking to expand our volunteering opportunities and in the past we have created a number of roles to suit individual volunteers. We would really welcome your application form even if you feel we do not currently have a suitable role for you.

*Tips on completing the application form online

• All sections marked with a star must be filled in.
• When searching for a volunteer vacancy please remember to select that you want to be a volunteer and which region you want to volunteer in.
• The application form is split into four sections: contact details, general information, references and an equal opportunities monitoring form
• All sections must be ticked as complete but you do not need to answer the equal opportunities questions
• When answering the questions on the general information section please put in as much information about what you would like to do and when you are available. Please include any specialist skills that you feel may be useful to us in our work. This will help us to be able to place you as soon as possible.
