London Destitution Service
What is this service?
This service offers practical advice and support for people seeking asylum in London.
We provide the following:
- Cold and hot food
- Shower and laundry
- Referrals to other specialist services including legal advice, health access, shelters, hosting schemes
- Emotional support
- ESOL classes
- Activities including workshops in photography, art and music so the clients can learn new skills and develop a way of reconnecting with themselves
Can I use this service?
The service runs on Fridays 11am to 3pm
We accept the first 20 people, with no entries after 12 noon. Please come at 11am as we may have reached our 20 person capacity before the deadline of 12:00pm.
We can accept up to 5 new people each week at the current time. Please ensure you have your Home Office paperwork (BAIL 201 and other relevant asylum documents).
The service is for:
- People seeking asylum or people refused asylum who are destitute
- Vulnerable and homeless people seeking asylum who have lost contact with their asylum application and have no legal representation.
