What is this service?

This service supports resettled refugees to find jobs.

We offer:

  • A dedicated employment and training advisor.
  • Help creating a plan to find work.
  • Training opportunities.
  • English conversation clubs.
  • Specific English classes.
  • Entrepreneurship training through The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network.
  • Visits to employers.
  • Talks from local businesses.
  • STEP works with Business in the Community (BITC). BITC support people to enter meaningful employment. They deliver a series of activities such as Behind the Scenes with Businesses, Career Conversations & Mentoring, and Work Experience.
  • Social events and networking opportunities.

Can I use this service?

STEP is available to:

  • Resettled refugees.
  • Those with experience of forced migration.
  • Those under humanitarian protection.
  • People seeking asylum (with the right to work).
  • Those under the Ukrainian extension scheme.
  • Are living in South Yorkshire, Leeds or York.
