Volunteer Psychological Therapist

The Refugee Council is one of the leading organisations in the UK working with asylum seekers and refugees. Our operational Therapeutic Service VPRS Volunteer teams based in various locations in England provide advice and assistance across a wide range of issues, including helping asylum seekers through the complexities of the asylum system, addressing issues of destitution and assisting refugees and asylum seekers to access key services including housing, welfare benefits, health, education and employment.

You will provide a psychological therapy service to Syrian refugees who have been re-settled in South Yorkshire via the Syrian resettlement programme. The role will involve offering a holistic assessment, therapy of up to 12 weeks and working closely with colleagues working in the VPRS to ensure individuals and families are accessing appropriate support and advice.

The work involves working with both adults and young people. Fortnightly clinical supervision is offered.
