Integration Advice Volunteers will volunteer within Refugee Council's Integration Services, supporting clients in the so-called ‘move-on period’, helping them make the transition from being an asylum seeker to being a refugee. This will involve providing a range of support including face-to-face and telephone advice, triaging of drop-in clients and administrative tasks.
Number of places: 10-15.
Interviews: Interviews to be held 21st January - 1st February.
Commitment: One day per week (Mon-Fri), 9.45am - 5pm with an hour lunch break. We are looking for volunteers for any day of the week, so we should be able to accommodate people's requests. Please note that we require regular weekly attendance for this role.
Support provided: training, shadowing, supervision and out-of-pocket expenses.
Training: Training on the main areas of work of the role will be provided. Attendance to all five sessions is required (dates will be published ASAP):
Wednesday 6th February (9am - 1pm) - Induction
w/c 11th February – Welfare benefits
w/c 18th February – Housing and homelessness
w/c 25th February – Private Rented Sector
w/c 4th March – Database
