My View - Drama Therapy

Drama Therapy Workshop

The Drama Therapy group run on Wednesdays from 5-6.30pm at the Stratford Arcade. Co-facilitated by My View children’s Psychotherapist Sarah Temple-Smith and a Drama therapist, this  very popular group gives young people a chance to work through their thoughts and feelings about their new lives in the UK.

Using creative games they can ‘try out’ different responses to situations and share their  experiences with other young people in similar circumstances – all while making new friends and having fun. By using their imagination and calling upon their personal memories (regulated by themselves) the young people get some relief from their anxieties and sadness. They also laugh a lot, which is both bonding and fun!

As one feedback comment puts it:

“The best for me in this group was that we all were safe, also we all work as one, respect each other and love one another”.

To join (or to refer a young person) please contact Sarah Temple-smith at sarah.templesmith@refugeecouncil.org.uk or call 07880 197155.
