Joining a teaching union and professional association


1. Consider joining a Teaching Union

Unions are there to support workers and give them a stronger voice.  Many teachers and students on teacher training join - they can be very helpful.  Read through the different options and costs (for students it is generally free).

2. Increase your subject knowledge by joining a Professional

Association

A good way to increase your knowledge of your subject is through joining a Professional Association.  They are formed by people who are passionate about their subject, and there is at least one for each main subject taught at school.  Read more to see what they offer and consider joining.
