Parliamentary Candidates - sign the Refugees Welcome pledge

Pledge to ensure Britain remains a welcoming place of safety for refugees

Ahead of the General Election, the Refugee Council, Refugee Action and Scottish Refugee Council are calling on all prospective parliamentary candidates to sign the Refugee Pledge and remember Britain’s history as a place of refuge for the persecuted.

The Refugees Welcome Pledge:

I pledge to respect the importance of refugee protection, including in wide-ranging debates about immigration, and, if elected, to uphold the proud tradition throughout the UK of welcoming people forced to flee war and persecution and helping them rebuild their lives.

If you are a prospective parliamentary candidate, you can sign the pledge here by completing the form below.

Not a candidate? You can see some ideas for how to raise the importance of refugee protection during the election here, including how to ask your local candidates to sign the pledge.

If you have any questions, please contact GE2017@refugeecouncil.org.uk.
