Government stops evictions over bank holiday weekend

Maeve Sherlock, Chief Executive of the Refugee Council said:

“We’re delighted the Government has agreed not to evict this group over the bank holiday weekend. However, it is vital that this change is communicated urgently, as widely as possible, to prevent any one being made homeless.

“The Government’s urgent review starting on Tuesday 4th May must include setting up immediate transitional arrangements to ensure no one ends up on the streets before they have had a chance to find work or make alternative arrangements”.
