Refugee Council statement
“We accept a robust form of identification is required and there certainly have been problems with the current Standard Acknowledgement Letter* (SAL). However, we would like to see legislative safeguards introduced on how it will be used to ensure that verbal commitments made in Parliament are properly maintained.”
“In addition, we want a categorical assurance that these cards will not become a plastic voucher system.”
