More free training for London based Refugee Community Organisations (RCOs)

The Basis Project is organising free training sessions open to all RCOs in London.

Bookkeeping and bank reconciliation

Workshop aims: To provide participants with an overview of bookkeeping using cash book and petty cash book systems and other sources of primary entry documents. It goes through the requirement to keep proper books and accounting records and what is involved in writing up a simple analysed cash book.

Learning outcomes: The workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to familiarise themselves with tools that will help to prepare annual accounts. The workshop will be based on a realistic case study and practical exercises.

Workshop aim: To provide participants with the essentials of setting up a robust financial control systems for their organisations and avoid the negative repercussions of having weak internal financial control systems. Effective financial control not only helps prevent error and fraud but also makes a major contribution to the good management of organisations, helping them make best use of their resources and become accountable to their stakeholders.

Learning outcomes: Through practical examples, participants will learn about what financial control systems means and be able to help their organisations implement suitable financial control systems.
