Refugee Council response to the closure of Refugee and Migrant Justice

In response to the announcement that Refugee and Migrant Justice (RMJ) has been forced into administration, Donna Covey, Chief Executive of the Refugee Council said:

“It is extremely alarming that Refugee and Migrant Justice has been forced to close. It is already very difficult for asylum seekers to find a good legal representative because of the poor administration of legal aid funding, so this is yet another blow. Asylum seekers must have access to good quality legal representation to ensure they get the protection they need – these are life or death situations. The government must act to ensure that all those seeking protection can get legal advice.”
